Engr. Foluseke ('Seke') Abidemi Somolu entered Ibadan Grammar School in January 1962 in Form Three, admission number 3893, having transferred from Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos when his parents moved to Ibadan. (MBHS Lagos had no boarding house). After his West African School Certificate in 1964, he stayed on for the Higher School Certificate course and passed out in 1966. He was Olubi House Captain in 1966. He was retained to teach mathematics and physics, January - September 1967, before entering the University of Lagos in September. He came back, again, to teach during the 1968 long vacation and, yet again for four months after graduating as an electrical engineer in 1970. He worked for 27 years in NEPA and retired as General Manager (Transmission) in 1997. He served as a member of the NEPA Presidential Technical Board, 2000-2001, and as Presidential Adviser on Power to Presidents Obasanjo and Yar Adua, 2005-2008. He is now a Consultant Power Engineer and Part time lecturer (Distinguished Fellow, Professorial Cadre) in Power engineering at the University of Lagos.
