Gen. Attahiru was a great leader. His career was very impressive. At every step, he did very well and showed that he was a bold, brave, and accomplished officer of integrity. Throughout his career, he served without blemish. He served with integrity. He served with great courage, and we are very proud of him. He was an officer and a gentleman, a dependable man of few words. He was a very intelligent and hardworking officer. And that is why, amongst his mates, you could count him as being among the best. As a result, it was no surprise that he was chosen as Chief of Army Staff from among his peers. He was worth his calling as a General.
